The Shepherd Will Come

I absolutely adore this piece! It is inspired by the scripture in which Jesus talks about seeking out sinners who have gone astray. As told in Matthew 18:12…
““If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?”

You will notice a field lily sprung next to the lamb… this is to acknowledge that whilst the sheep has strayed from the flock, Jesus has never left him - he is still by his side. In biblical literature, the lily of the valley represents purity, rebirth and hope. I thought this subtle symbolism portrayed the message quite beautifully, as many often like to refer to Christ as a lily of the valley.
